In order for an implant to be considered as permanently stable, there is need for the body to grow up to the surface of the implant. This is known as Osseo-integration. Referring to this biological procedure, it was initially thought that the loading of an implant would cause the movement which would prevent the growth of the body tissues. This was feared that is would result in failures associated with the implants. People then began to trust their Rancho Cucamonga dentists and implants are safe.

Research on teeth placements

After long period of research and close observation of the teeth placements, it was figured out that this was not the case. The initial stability that the implant has is the greatest determinant of whether the implant would be a success or a failure. It is therefore not possible to tell the exact healing time that should be expected. The time that will take to heal is dependent on the bone’s density. It is also dependent on the implants that have been splinted together.

One stage, two stage surgery technique

After a successful placement of an implant, the internal components around the teeth are usually covered with either two things. it can be a cover screw or even a healing abutment. For the healing abutment, it normally passes through what is known as mucosa. This mucosa that surrounds the whole abutment will then adapt to it. On the other hand, the cover screw is usually a flush which has the surface of a dental implant. The design of this screw is to be able to fully cover the whole mucosa. This is then given some time in order to integrate fully and then a second surgery is carried out. this surgery is meant to reflect the mucosa and also have a healing abutment placed.

Immediate placement

This is a technique that has been adapted in an increasing trend. This is because using this strategy, one can be able to reduce the number of instances that the treatment times are carried out. This strategy is also good in preserving the bone. This technique involves placing the implant into that place where there was a recent extraction site. Using this method will help to shorten the time it takes to have full treatment and considering that the soft tissue envelope is conserved and thus can still be said to improve the esthetics.

Additional surgical procedures

In order to have osseo-integration of an implant, it will need to be engulfed with a bone that is healthy in plenty. For the implant to be able to last for a long time, a thick healthy tissue is necessary. This envelope should surround completely in order to create an environment that favors the implant to last for long. These additional procedures are usually done when either of the above cases is in deficiency. These procedures are the hard and soft tissue reconstruction.
